Moratalla La Vieja (Old Moratalla)

Cerro de Moratalla La Vieja was inhabited in the past by the different cultures from the Copper Age to the Roman period. Remains of the walls and drawings carved in stone (petroglyphs) can still be seen today.

Banks of the River Alhárabe

River Alhárabe, which joins River Benamor to create River Moratalla, conserves a riverbank rich in flora and fauna, and so it has been proposed as a Site of Community Importance (SCI).

Moratalla Landscape

Nature embraces the hill on which Moratalla stands. The forest landscape of Moratalla is impressive, with rugged terrain like Sierra del Buitre, rising 1,427 m above sea level.
